Sorting Materials into Groups (Smart Material Property Analyzer Station)

Source:

Test object samples (Copper wire, Wood block, Plastic ruler, Iron nail, Glass marble) on a 4-station material testing dock! Probes measure electrical conductivity, magnetic attraction, transparency, and water density.

Categorisation

Props & Materials Required

  • Material testing dock with sample slots
  • Electrical conductivity probes + continuity buzzer circuit
  • A3144 Hall-effect magnetic sensor
  • LDR optical transparency light sensor
  • ESP32 controller board with 0.96-inch OLED screen
  • DFPlayer Mini MP3 module + 3W speaker

Step-by-Step Instructions

1

Place Sample on Testing Station

Place Copper Wire sample onto testing station probes.

2

Conductivity & Magnetism Test

Continuity probe detects closed circuit (CONDUCTOR!). Hall sensor detects no magnetic force.

3

Transparency & Lustre Test

LDR sensor measures light reflection (HIGH LUSTRE, OPAQUE).

4

Material Profile Classification

OLED screen displays 'Classification: METALLIC ELECTRICAL CONDUCTOR'. Speaker narrates copper's use in electrical wiring!

Why It Works & Notes

Materials are classified based on physical properties (conductors vs insulators, magnetic vs non-magnetic, sink vs float). Testing real samples with multi-sensor probes turns material science into hands-on telemetry.
