Rani's Gift (Smart Capacity, Weight & Length Station)

Source:

Pour liquid into a smart measuring beaker with a water level sensor probe, and weigh gift boxes on a load cell scale. Speaker compares non-standard cups vs. standard milliliters (ml) and grams (g).

Categorisation

Props & Materials Required

  • Graduated plastic measuring beaker
  • Water level sensor probe / liquid depth sensor
  • Mini load cell weight scale platform (0-500g)
  • ESP32 / Arduino controller
  • DFPlayer Mini MP3 module + 3W speaker
  • 0.96-inch OLED display

Step-by-Step Instructions

1

Pour Water into Smart Beaker

Pour 2 small cups of water into the measuring beaker. The water level sensor probe reads the depth.

2

Hear Volume Reading

Speaker announces: 'You poured 2 cups! That equals 200 milliliters of water!'

3

Weigh Gift Boxes

Place Rani's gift box on the smart scale platform. Speaker announces: 'Weight: 350 grams! That's heavier than 3 apples!'

4

Capacity Comparison Challenge

Which holds more water: the tall thin bottle or short wide bowl? Pour water from both into the smart beaker to verify with live ml readout!

Why It Works & Notes

Understanding volume (capacity) and weight requires physical measuring. Using electronic liquid depth and weight sensors helps children connect informal units ('3 small cups') to standard units ('150 ml').
