Maps and Locations (Smart Scale Map Enlargement & Coordinate Plotter)

Source: Stemoto Original

Enlarge mini maps using scale factors (1 cm on map = 5 meters in real life!). A servo-driven 2D plotter arm draws scaled map paths on a grid drawing board based on input scale ratios.

Props & Materials Required

  • 2D XY servo plotter mechanism with drawing marker pen
  • Map grid mat (Scale 1:1, Scale 1:2, Scale 1:5)
  • ESP32 controller board
  • 16x2 LCD display screen
  • DFPlayer Mini MP3 module + 3W speaker

Step-by-Step Instructions

1

Input Map Route Coordinates

Select route: 'School (2,2) → Park (4,6) → Library (8,6)'.

2

Select Scale Ratio Factor

Select Scale: '1 cm = 2 meters (Scale x2 Enlargement)'.

3

Servo Plotter Draws Map

2D servo plotter arm lowers marker pen and draws the enlarged route on grid paper.

4

Real-World Distance Announcement

LCD displays 'Map Distance: 12 cm = Real Distance: 24 Meters!'. Speaker verifies scale accuracy!

Why It Works & Notes

Maps and Locations explores scale reduction/enlargement (how 1 cm on a city map represents 100 meters on the ground). Using a 2D servo plotter arm to draw map routes at different scale ratios makes map scale visual and physical.
