Getting to Know Plants (Smart Photosynthesis & Transpiration Lab)
Source:
Enclose a potted plant in a transparent acrylic chamber. A DHT22 humidity sensor tracks leaf transpiration (water vapor release), while an LDR light sensor and CO2 probe demonstrate photosynthesis under different light colors!

Props & Materials Required
- •Transparent sealed plant testing chamber with RGB LED growth light
- •DHT22 temperature & humidity sensor
- •MH-Z19B NDIR CO2 sensor / LDR light intensity sensor
- •ESP32 controller board
- •16x2 LCD display screen
- •DFPlayer Mini MP3 module + 3W speaker
Step-by-Step Instructions
Seal Plant inside Chamber
Place green leafy plant inside the clear testing chamber.
Turn ON Red/Blue Grow Lights
Turn ON RGB grow light to Red spectrum (photosynthesis peak wavelength).
Monitor Transpiration Moisture Rise
DHT22 reads chamber humidity rising from 45% → 85% as leaves transpire water!
Photosynthesis Report & Audio Tip
LCD displays 'TRANSPIRATION ACTIVE! Humidity: +40% | Stomata Open!'. Speaker narrates how plants pump water up from roots to leaves!
Why It Works & Notes
Plants lose water vapor through stomata (transpiration) and convert CO2 + light into oxygen (photosynthesis). Monitoring chamber humidity rise and CO2 drop under Red/Blue LED grow lights brings plant physiology to life.
