Build a 2WD electric vehicle (EV) robot car fitted with an HC-SR04 ultrasonic distance sensor mounted on a servo steering neck. The car drives autonomously around obstacles while an OLED screen displays battery level.

  • SG90 micro servo motor (sensor radar pan neck)
  • ESP32 / micro:bit V2 controller
  • 0.96-inch OLED display screen

Step-by-Step Instructions

Assemble EV Robot Chassis

Attach 2 DC gear motors, wheels, and front caster wheel to the chassis.

Mount Ultrasonic Radar Neck

Mount the ultrasonic distance sensor on top of an SG90 servo motor on the car front.

Switch ON Autonomous EV Mode

Turn on power switch. The car drives forward autonomously.

Obstacle Radar Scanning

When an obstacle is detected < 20cm, the car stops! Servo pans ultrasonic sensor Left and Right to scan for clear paths, then steers in the open direction!
