- •30-LED NeoPixel addressable strip (WS2812B)
- •ESP32 controller board
- •4x4 membrane numeric keypad
- •DFPlayer Mini MP3 module + 3W speaker
Step-by-Step Instructions
Punch the Problem
Key in an addition problem on the keypad: e.g., '24 + 15'.
Watch the Garland Light Up
24 yellow flower LEDs light up first, then 15 blue flower LEDs light up next to them along the string.
Count the Total
Count all lit LEDs together. The digital display and speaker confirm: '24 plus 15 equals 39 festival lights!'
Subtraction Light Removal
For '35 - 12', 35 lights turn ON, then 12 lights turn OFF one-by-one with popping sounds. Speaker announces: '23 lights remain!'
Why It Works & Notes
Festival decoration themes (diya lights, flower garlands) contextualize 2-digit addition and subtraction. Seeing LED bulbs light up one-by-one along a garland visually represents 2-digit sums concrete and beautiful.
