Coconut Farm (Smart Perimeter & Multi-Digit Area Multiplication Grid)

Source: Stemoto Original

Design a coconut farm layout on a magnetic 10x10 grid board. Enter farm dimensions (e.g. 24m × 18m); the smart grid illuminates the rectangular land area in LEDs and calculates total yield.

Props & Materials Required

  • 10x10 NeoPixel RGB LED grid farm board
  • 4x4 matrix keypad module
  • ESP32 controller board
  • 0.96-inch OLED display screen
  • DFPlayer Mini MP3 module + 3W speaker

Step-by-Step Instructions

1

Input Farm Dimensions

Key in Length = 8m and Width = 6m on the keypad.

2

Watch 8x6 Grid Matrix Light Up

The 10x10 LED matrix illuminates an 8-column by 6-row rectangular zone (48 LEDs).

3

Compute Area & Perimeter

OLED displays 'Area = 8 × 6 = 48 sq meters | Perimeter = 2*(8+6) = 28 meters'.

4

Coconut Yield Calculation

If 1 sq meter produces 3 coconuts — Speaker announces: 'Total Harvest Yield: 48 × 3 = 144 Coconuts!'

Why It Works & Notes

The Coconut Farm chapter focuses on multi-digit multiplication, land area (Length × Width), and perimeter calculations. Illuminating 2D rectangular grid areas on an LED matrix proves why Area = L × W.
