Clean Water Filter & Smart Turbidity Quality Lab
Source:
Build a multi-layer water filter column (gravel, coarse sand, fine sand, activated charcoal). Pass muddy water through, then test water clarity using an optical LED light turbidity sensor.

Props & Materials Required
- •Clear plastic 3-tier filter column
- •Filter materials: Pebbles, coarse sand, fine sand, activated charcoal, filter paper
- •Dirty muddy water sample
- •TS-300B optical water turbidity sensor module
- •ESP32 controller board
- •0.96-inch OLED display
- •DFPlayer Mini MP3 module + 3W speaker
Step-by-Step Instructions
Build Filter Layers
Layer materials in the column from top to bottom: Pebbles (large debris), Coarse Sand, Fine Sand, Activated Charcoal (smell/color), Filter paper.
Pour Dirty Water
Pour murky muddy water into the top. Watch water slowly trickle down through each layer.
Collect Cleaned Water
Observe clear water dripping out of the bottom spout into a glass!
Smart Turbidity Light Sensor Check
Place purified water into the optical turbidity sensor chamber. Infrared light shines through liquid. Speaker announces: 'Turbidity: CLEAR! 95% dirt removed! Water is clean!'
Why It Works & Notes
Water purification requires filtering particles of different sizes. Passing dirty water through physical filter layers and testing clarity before/after with an optical turbidity light sensor proves that filtration removes suspended dirt.
